Who we are?
Our Product involves collaborative integrity checking of outbound and inbound supply chains, to enable Peer Ledger to effectively trace and track data relating to products using our innovative blockchain platform. We ensure that only relevant and necessary data is collected from our users, and that personal data (meaning data about an identifiable individual), is only collected, used and disclosed in accordance with this Policy.
If you have any questions about this Policy or our privacy practices, you can email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
When you sign up to use our Product or create an account with us, we ask for your name, phone number and email address. This personal data allows us to set up your account, and provide the Product to you. We retain this information for as long as you have an account with Peer Ledger, and longer if required in order to provide the Product to our users – for example, to allow for effective tracing and investigation relating to a particular product.
We may also ask you to create a user name in order to create an account. We may also, from time to time, send you emails relating to the Product, new product development, or research initiatives.
We may collect and process credit card information through Stripe, a third party service provider. We do not retain your credit card information, and we only process it on behalf of Stripe in order to process payment for our Product.
We also collect the IP address of your computer in order to enable us to detect unauthorized transactions, better manage website traffic, and to gather other analytics on our site.
We may use "cookies," which are small data files placed and stored on your computer, to help you manage your use of our site. Cookies are used as follows:
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Who we share your data with
We may, if required, share your data with our hosting provider and other third party vendors. These may include companies that provide the technical necessities/assistance such as software, hardware, network provider, storage provider, etc. to keep our services running.
We use third parties for credit card processing (such as Stripe), which parties are prohibited from using your personal data for promotional or any other purposes beyond processing your payment for the Product.
We may share your aggregate anonymous data with third parties in order to improve the site and Product, or for marketing purposes.
We may share your personal data if required by law and if we believe that the disclosure is required or necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial processing or legal process served on our site or with respect to our Product.
We may share personal data if we believe that it is required in order to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, a potential threat to the physical safety of a third party, or as otherwise required by law.
We may transfer personal data to a third party entity in the event of a sale of part or all of our business. You will be notified via email of any such change in ownership or control of personal data.
If you leave any comments on our site, this data may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
Retention of your data
We will only retain your personal data for as long as required to provide the Product to you. Given the nature of the Product, and for the purpose of providing the Product to you, including effective and meaningful tracing, we may retain certain data indefinitely, including personal data (such as email address or other contact information). Once data is no longer required for this purpose, it will be anonymized, deleted or destroyed.
If you leave a comment on the site, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register through our site, we also store the personal data such users provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal data at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that data.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
You can see, edit, or delete your personal data at any time (except you cannot change your username). Our site administrators can also see and edit that data.
How we protect your data
We have implemented commercially reasonable security measures and follow generally accepted industry standards to protect personal data sent to our site or provided to our Product, both during transmission and afterwards. It is your responsibility to ensure that you do not disclose your password to anyone.
However, despite our efforts to maintain the confidentiality and security of your personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. Although we make every effort to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
