  • Dr. Dawn Julta

    FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & CO-CEO

    Dawn is the energetic Founder, President and Co-CEO of Peer Ledger. She leads a first-class team of talent passionate about blockchain technology, value creation, and corporate social responsibility. A strong business technologist, she brings passion, drive, superb execution ability, and strategic thinking to everything she does.

    Dawn received her Master and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from the Technical University of Nova Scotia (now Dalhousie University) in the areas of distributed shared memory and multi-view access control. Her publications include 2 issued blockchain-based USPTO patents, 85 papers in the IEEE, ACM, and other venues, and a co-authored book on e-Business Readiness: A Customer-Focused Framework. 

    For over a decade, Dawn taught business and technology strategy at the Sobey School of Business where she founded the Master of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation program to support entrepreneurship in Atlantic Canada. She held the Scotiabank Professor of Technology Entrepreneurship and Innovation position from 2015-2022 at the Sobey School of Business.   • Dr. Gordon Agnew

    CO-CEO and CHIEF SECURITY OFFICER

    Gord is Co-CEO and Chief Security Officer of Peer Ledger. He was a co-founder of Certicom Corporation, which when sold to Research in Motion (Blackberry) had a significant patent portfolio for mobile security. Gord’s career spans decades in academia, industry, and consulting. He’s held senior scientific positions at Certicom Corporation, University of Waterloo Computer Communications Research Group, and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology.

    Gord has provided consulting services to government, banking, telecommunications and health care sectors in the areas of Wired and Wireless Communications systems, Cryptographic Systems, Protocols, Standards, Security Assessments, Cryptanalysis of Algorithm and the creation and use of electronic health care records and systems for long term secure storage.

    Gord has been a member of several government and international standards setting committees. He is a Foundation Fellow of the Institute of Combinatorics and its Applications and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

  • Dr. Peter Bodorik

    CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER

    Peter is Chief Technology Officer and a professor at the Faculty of Computer Science, Dalhousie University. He has held various positions, including Director of Master of Electronic Commerce, Associate Dean Academic, and Acting Associate Dean Research.

    He has published over 70 refereed papers in conference and journal venues with concentration on managing data in distributed systems. His publications focus on efficient mechanisms for transaction management and querying; electronic commerce, with concentration on e-commerce models and benchmarking; and privacy with concentration on models and tools to support privacy on the client and server sides.

    He has received and participated in many grants and awards from NSERC, CFI, and industry. Over 80 graduate students have successfully completed their studies under Peter’s supervision at both the Masters and Ph.D. levels. LinkedIn

  • Jim Cook

    CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

    Jim is a Chartered Professional Accountant and Chief Operating Officer at Peer Ledger. He is a trusted finance, technical, and operational executive with over 20 years of experience in senior finance and advisory roles.

    Jim has been a proactive business partner with both listed and privately held organizations and has been instrumental in providing the core capabilities and insights that help drive organizational performance. Jim has an MBA from Dalhousie University and a degree in Archaeology from Trent University.
