It gives us great pleasure to announce that Dr. Dawn Jutla, CEO at Peer Ledger, has been chosen as the recipient of the 2018 Startup Canada Women Entrepreneur Award for the Atlantic region. The award is bestowed annually to women who have impacted Canadian entrepreneurship through exemplary activities and leadership of their companies who are selected by an esteemed, diverse, adjudication committee.

Dr. Jutla was recognized for her work with Peer Ledger, highlighting the company’s commitment to aid in the development of socially responsive enterprises, build technology solutions for responsibly sourced supply chains and to improve Economic, Environmental and Social Governance impact for investors across multiple industries. Peer Ledger serves as an example of an equitable Startup; Dr. Jurtla credits the collective culture and effort of the Peer Ledger team for this achievement.

“What sets us apart are the values we espouse,” explained Jutla, “How we interact with people; good conduct, non-racist, non-discriminatory, correcting, the integrity with which we work and build our software. Our partners and employees reflect these values as well. Employees are the DNA of our company.”

The Startup Canada Awards recognizes those driving impact and excellence in Canada’s entrepreneurship and innovation community. The awards, which began in 2014, are an opportunity to increase awareness of the importance of strengthening Canada’s entrepreneurship ecosystem and culture, as well as to incentivize efforts and elevate the ambitions of the Canadian entrepreneurial community. The winners from 6 Canadian regions will go on to be considered for the National level award. We wish Dr. Jutla the best!
